On Saturday, September 15th, we headed down to Shrewsbury Yacht Club bright and early to attend the Central Early Fall Qualify hosted by Monmouth University. We were able to get out for 3 full rotations with decent wind from the East. In A fleet, Edgard Sanchez (‘19) skippered while Cassidy Gonzalez (‘19) crewed. For the second rotation of A fleet, Troy Dittenhofer (‘20) skippered while Kyle Benjamin (‘21) crewed. In B fleet, Ian Walczak (‘19) skippered while Arul Duggimpudi (‘20) crewed. For the second rotation of B fleet, Emily Pooley (‘19) skippered while Adam Warner (‘22) crewed. A fleet got 9th out of 17 twice on Saturday and B fleet got 12th out of 17 once!

On Sunday, there was a very long wind delay until 1pm. By 1pm, the wind was consistently above 3 kts so we sent out our A fleet with Troy and Kyle. They faired well and got a 12th place. However, the wind was quickly dying as we sent out our B fleet with Ian and Adam. The last two races were tough for everyone to even finish. Overall, we got 14th place! We were ahead of Delaware, OCC, and Penn State with Delaware being 15 points behind us! It was great start to the season!
