MAISA/SAISA Interconference Results

Last weekend the team traveled back down to Virginia to Hampton University. The trip was definitely better than the weekend before since we bypassed the traffic around D.C.. We went down the Delmarva peninsula, which had some great views crossing it. It was a more enjoyable drive than last weekend.

Four team members went down: Robert, Mike, Emily, and Anthony. It was Emily's first collegiate regatta, and Anthony's first regatta altogether. In fact, Anthony sailed for the first time whatsoever on Thursday before we went down. He is definitely a quick learner. Overall, we came in 10th place out of the 11 teams, so we did not do as well as the weekend before. However, we did beat Penn State! Below is the link to see the break down of all of the races.

The weekend had some pretty nice weather especially after the cold and rain we have had New Jersey. It was in the high 60s and low 70s throughout the weekend. There was about 10-11 kts of wind from the southwest on Saturday which allowed us to get in 6 rotations with a total of 12 races. It was a long day, we raced until about 6pm. On Sunday, there was less wind with about 8 kts and the courses were set shorter. We got in three races for each of the divisions, so everything was wrapped up a little bit early for us and the other teams that had a long trip home. Overall, it was a fun weekend, and can be considered a success just based on beating Penn State!
