This weekend Jeremy, Anna, and I made our way to Annapolis to attend the MAISA Draft for the 2017 season. We turned it into a whole trip exploring downtown Annapolis while we were there.
We drove down on Friday afternoon after we finished our classes. It was a three hour drive to get to our hotel where we checked in, then we headed out for dinner. Based on some recommendations we went to Jimmy Cantler's Riverside Inn. We had some great Maryland crab cakes along with some other seafood. We then explored downtown checking out all the cool little shops. We even explored some of historic Annapolis that was a lit up with Christmas lights.
In the morning, after making a stop for coffee we made our way to St. John's College for the draft. First was the women's draft, and we decided to choose one regatta, which is a first for the team. Then was the coed in-conference draft, we are ranked 40th making our first pick the 326th. So, it was quite a while before we had a chance to choose a regatta, and many of them were already filling up. Despite our high pick numbers, we still managed to get a full regatta schedule.

But following the draft we continued to explore downtown Annapolis. All the houses downtown were really cute and we definitely took plenty of pictures. We then found a cool place for lunch at Vida Taco Bar. We had some pretty unique tacos like one with octopus and cactus. And just before driving back, we had to stop by Annapolis Performance Sailing. We didn't buy anything this visit, even though we might have wanted to. It then took us a little over three hours to get back to Rutgers.
Overall, it was an awesome and very successful weekend!
